Hassania is available for workshops, classes or travel. She
has recently taught workshops in Mexico and Hawaii,
and Santa Cruz, as well as at Rhythm
& Motion Dance Studio in San Francisco. She has facilitated
workshops for Sacred
Grove Women of Color Wholistic Health Collective, and
has presented programs for
children at several Bay Area Schools. Hassania was also
featured at a recent California Association for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD)
convention.
Though
her expertise extends to include a variety of dances from North
Africa and the Gulf States, Hassania remains focused on spiritual
dances of the Maghreb.
Skills
developed in her classes include relationship of steps to rapid
polyrhythmic percussion, choreography, and singing or vocal
expressions. Hassania also teaches traditional Moroccan rhythms
on bendir and tarija.
All
of Hassania’s instruction is designed to boost self-esteem
and confidence, and participants of all ages and skill levels
are invited.
